Maintaining human connection and taking initiative at a distance - is it really possible?

Create cohesion through projects carried out by employees, even remotely.

Of the 29 million households in France, 36% consist of a single person (INSEE). Among them, many active young people who are suffering the full brunt of the lack of social ties. In this anxiety-provoking context, they are the great forgotten ones of lockdown.

At Teamstarter, we have been supporting the emergence of cohesion projects since mid-March, led by employees who wanted to maintain social ties, even at a distance. Exchange sessions in a foreign language, video lunches or aperitifs, sharing cooking recipes or photo competitions... Within large companies as well as SMEs, these projects are generating a lot of enthusiasm!

Far from being a vacation, teleworking is now accompanied by stress: children's schooling, the health of loved ones, economic uncertainty... Work sometimes becomes a succession of tasks, which repeated visions struggle to humanize. After long weeks of confinement, fatigue and loss of motivation are being felt!

Reboarding employees

For employees who are confined and forced to do partial activity, bridges with the company have sometimes been cut off. For the recovery, however, we will have to rely on their effectiveness and their involvement! Cohesion between colleagues is then emerging as a determining factor in order to quickly reintegrate them into the business project.

Cohesion, a long-standing challenge

Moreover, corporate cohesion should not be such a new concern. In a study*, 90% of employees believe that well-being, morale and the atmosphere at work are priority elements within a company. Team cohesion creates value: it encourages collaboration, facilitates the ability to delegate, boosts creativity... Making people want to work together seems to be a decisive challenge. Perceived as a “bonus”, corporate cohesion will finally appear as an imperative. The lack of cohesion could reveal profound dysfunctions, which must be addressed, and this is happening right now.

Teamstarter, a tool at the service of employees and the company

At Teamstarter, we are experiencing peaks of activity among our customers during the lockdown period with the emergence of numerous projects.

At our client SFEIR, for example, 8 projects were carried out during lockdown. This reveals the need and the desire of employees to support each other, to keep in touch but also to support others in this period of estrangement.

With Teamstarter, they can propose projects on an internal company platform, raise funds, and carry out projects thanks to a budget allocated by the company.

Wouldn't that be the key to listening to your employees, letting them choose and take charge of these subjects?
